Bad Luck!

So the most random thing happened today!  We were at Sonic...my home away from home...but this is the first time in like 2 weeks I had been.  Jordan drove us (me, Griff, and Izz) and we were minding our own business ordering our drinks and then suddenly there is a huge crash.  It is really really windy here today and the top of one of the menu boards in the stall next to us flew off and slid all the way across the hood of Jordan's car.  The manager came out and looked at the scratches and now we will have to bother with filing a claim with Sonic's insurance and getting his hood fixed!  Drama for your momma!!  Weird things like this always happen to us!  I will update on how this all works out!

Griffin turned 8 months old on Thanksgiving day but I don't have any pictures or measurements!  He goes to the doctor on Tuesday to get another one of his 6 month shots so I will update then with the stats.

We had a wonderful holiday and I got really used to having Jordan around the house.  Too bad he doesn't have a work from home job!  I am blessed with a really good husband and he is becoming more and more helpful by the day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  It was also Griffin's 8 month birthday, and we celebrated by again moving his crib down.  This morning when Jordan went to get him up he was standing up and shaking his tower that holds his diapers and lamp on top of it!  That could have been scary!  But all is well it's now lower.  He can still pull up on the side but I don't have to worry about him jumping out!  I will post pictures soon of Thanksgiving.  Here is what I think Santa is going to bring Griff this year.

He will of course get other stuff too but I think this one will be from Santa!  Shh don't tell him! :)

PUPPY CHOW

At my husbands request yesterday ,I made him some Puppy Chow!  We are REALLY in the holiday spirit!

Puppy Chow Recipe

9	cups Corn Chex®, Rice Chex®, Wheat Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination)
1	cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2	cup peanut butter
1/4	cup butter or margarine
1	teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2	cups powdered sugar

1.	Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2.	In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3.	Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Please excuse the table.  I had to hide because if he sees the camera he just sits up and smiles.  He really gets going if he sees something he likes.  These things include: cords, remotes, telephones, and cameras.  Pretty much anything electronic and explensive!  He's getting pretty fast!

We have a total of 5 Christmas trees around the house!  Some upstairs, in bathrooms, and on tables!  I was so happy last night!  Jordan found me some Christmas music on T.V. and sat with me downstairs polishing his shoes while I decorated!  I can't wait to have you over to see the trees and snowmen!  Come on!!  :)

I love being a "Panelist!"

I am a panelist for an online market researching company. I have gotten things from time to time and get paid for taking surveys. I just totaled everything and have made $130 this year...Not a lot, but great for just filling out surveys once a week! This week my mailbox was full of items to try! I couldn't be more excited! Here they are!

Our wonderful deal carseat came today!! Griffin clearly loves it! I can't wait for him to be a big boy and use it!! We might cheat and try it out since it technically can rear face too! I am getting this as a Christmas present from Granny and am just SOO excited! You can ask Jordan...I have been talking about it nonstop since I ordered it Sunday! It's so funny how your life changes and the things you could have cared less about before baby are now the highlight of your week!



And this is Griffin's latest trick of rolling from tummy to side and then sitting up! I find him in all sorts of positions now!!

Playing Catch Up!

Since Griff and I have been back from Seattle it's been a whirlwind! I got sick, he got sick (and still is a little bit), we went out to dinner with our dear friends Clark and Linds, I worked a little bit two days, I worked from home marketing yesterday, and now I finally have a free minute! Griffin is sooo active these days! The child hardly EVER sits still. Here are some highlights of things he is doing:
- Still learning to crawl. We've had three successful actual crawls! The rest of them are scoot with your legs, collapse, start again, move your arms, collapse, start again, etc.
- Rolls from his tummy to his side and then sits up.
- Goes from sitting to crawling position
- Says several sounds including: MAHH (when he is crying or mad), da, ba, geee, ga, heee etc.
- Loves to eat his graduate stars in all flavors!
- Starting to eat little bites of table food here and there!
- Had another tooth breaking through
- Still loves: remotes, phones, paper, computers, and mail!

- Stll peeks out of his crib and watches for us after nap time is over.

- Is gettting REALLY good at copying all that we do. I opened my mouth at him and this is what I got back.

All in all he is still a sweet angel baby. He has had his first diaper rash this week and that's sure not fun! We are so excited for this next birthday coming up! In 9 days he will be 8 months old! Such a big boy!!!

I just bought this carseat for $59.99!  That's a savings of 79%!  I was asking for a much cheaper carseat for Christmas since we will need a new one for Griff when he is a year old and got this one for even less money then the original cheaper one!!  I'm so happy!!

OFFICIAL NEWS

WE HAVE A CRAWLER!!!!! Griffin took his first official "steps" on his hands and knees tonight! He was getting close in Seattle but I think he was waiting so Dad could see! Video to come soon!

Please Please PLEASE stop squishing down your bumpers! Momma really likes them and hoped they would last awhile. I understand that it is comfortable to rest your arm on them but maybe we can try something else instead. Thanks darling baby!

Sleepy Sleepy!

I think I have talked about before how the sound of the hair dryer puts Griff to sleep....Well this morning when I was blow drying my hair I let him jump in the doorway in his jumper. This is what I saw when I looked out to check on him. So sweet! He's never fallen asleep anywhere like this before!

This is Griffin's new monkey hat and mittens! He seems to like them! We will need them in Seatlle next week!

Tired...

The daylight savings day switch has hit our house hard! Griffin was thrown completely off his schedule. We have gotten him back to normal except for one thing...Wake up time! In my book one of the most important! He is now waking up anywhere from 4:50 am to 5:45 am. He's fine waiting until 6:45 like normal for breakfast, he just doesn't want to sleep anymore! We tried last night keeping him up until 8:30 pm (an hour later) and that didn't work. I am trying to play with his nap times and see if I can rearrange them to make it easier. But if all else fails I guess I will just have to get used to it! When I worked at the hospital full time I woke up at 5:30 so I will just pretend it's like that! ha ha. We are leaving for Seattle on Monday and I can't wait to see what that does to him! I told sister Kelsey that he would go to sleep at 5 pm and wake up at 3am!! That's just my prediction. We are having a night in watching the election results. We both voted early so we didn't have to mess with it today.

On another note Griff is up on all fours 90% of the time now when he is on the floor. He has attempted to crawl once by moving one of his legs forwards. For the most part he is up, rocks back and forth awhile, collapses, rolls over, and starts again! It's so fun to watch! We are going to catch it on video soon!
