On the Way to Thanksgiving...

We drove 5.5 hours to Midland this week to celebrate Thanksgiving with Jordan's family. We weren't sure how driving that long with a 20 month old would work out. As it turns out it went great! No huge screaming fits or meltdowns at all! Here are a few pictures of us on the way...

We played with mommy's sunglasses.

We stopped halfway in Abilene to stretch our legs. This
is Daddy's building.

Griffin really didn't get the idea of standing still beside the sign. But we tried!

This is where Daddy worked when we started dating!

This is where Mommy spent her time!

We asked Griff to pet the doggie. He chose the little girl instead.

Kinda over taking pictures.

Jordan loves to take glamour shots of me!

These are some really fun rocks!

Down Set Hut Hut!

Griffin loved Jacob's ladder.

And then...HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This time tomorrow we will be off!

First we will stop here for some pictures...
Then play with all these fun people!! This time
with Griff outside my tummy!

While Thanksgiving is not my favorite holiday, (I don't like thanksgiving food...my plate will only have turkey and bread and maybe macaroni if there is any. :) I am very thankful for all that I have been blessed with. A beautiful family, a house we love and can grown into, a super smart husband starting grad school, Jordan's cousins and sister who I love as my best friends, wonderful dinner club friends here, and having my sweet momma down the street! This has been a really really really hard year but we are still blessed beyond measure. We love you all.

A Year!

Oh what a difference a year makes! Today we also laughed, clapped, and waved bye bye. But he also spoke in phrases like "momma kick ball" "more ba ba momma" and "granna swing" I love the phase we are in now where he is like a sponge learning new words and combining them into semi-sentences. But I miss this little non walking, non climbing, sweet baby boy too!

A Day with Griffin

Yesterday, Griffin and I just hung out.

In the morning we worked on dressing ourselves and picking out shoes. Sometimes we got it a little wrong.
We played with Izzie.
We went over to Granna's house while she was at work and used her backyard. Ours has an ant issue that Daddy has to fix REALLY SOON! We watched airplanes (anes) his favorite.
We practiced kicking. He always says "kick" before kicking.
We laughed with squinty eyes like Daddy.
And we stayed in our skeleton pajamas and boots all day. Because we can!

We hope your day was as fun as ours!

Photobucket

Kelsey's Wednesday topic this week was to name one chore we could do with out ever doing again. I LOVE to clean. I LOVE to scrub floors and bathrooms don't bother me. I clean some part of the house every single day. BUT....
I wish I never had to....Empty the diaper genie pail EVER again. I HATE, DESPISE, LOATHE doing this. I always try to get Jordan to do it. But once it is overflowing I have no choice but to empty it. Uggghhh.... Not too much longer until we are done with diapers! (Hopefully) Until then, "Honey, will you get the diapers this time?"

I didn't have any pictures on our computer of PP in his uniform so I chose this one from his 80th birthday celebration that had many photos on display.

Glee!

My sweet husband surprised me with this CD and I couldn't be happier! We haven't bought a CD in like 3 years but this one was worth it! The second volume comes out on December 8 and hopefully Santa will leave it under the tree for me. I know not everyone loves Glee as much as I do, but it's a show that just makes me happy! It's the inner choir girl in me. I was a Main Street Singer in high school you know! ha ha. Glee is back on tomorrow night so you should catch it if you can.

On My Mind...

1. Sweet Ginna and Berkley! This babies birthday is on schedule to be next week! I could not be more excited! I love babies and am so glad Griffin will have some sweet "cousins" so soon. We are praying for a easy delivery and healthy beautiful baby!
2. Putting up my 6 Christmas trees! Thankfully none of them are this crazy! I know that these upside down trees are trendy but seriously? Who would put these up!?!?3. Jordan is in the process of applying to graduate school at SMU. His application is due next week so this is a stressful little bit for us. He would be in the Executive MBA program (if accepted) and this would mean a couple of days away from us each week over the next two years. Praying that if it's good for him and our family that God will allow it to happen!

This is more for me to remember than anything but read along if you would like!
Griffin, at 19 months old your language is EXPLODING!! You are repeating almost everything we say. Your new thing is to lay in your crib when you are waking up and call each one of our names, (Dad, momma, izzie) and then say GO! loudly. It's so cute. You are also saying yes in addition to no, very cutely putting your hands out like "I don't know" whenever we ask you something you don't know, and you are still doing our favorite thing. When you would like something, you come and get us by the hand and take us to what you would like. Sometimes it's to the fridge for milk, to the countertop for pretzel balls, or to the stairs while saying teeth because you want to brush your teeth. We love you so much and are so pleased by how smart you are. You are also still jumping while saying WHOA! and although your feet never leave the ground it's pretty darn cute!

Kelsey's Visit

We had a great weekend! Sister Kelsey was here, the Cowboys won, Griffin was well behaved at church, and my sweet mom gave me a ton of Christmas decorations that she isn't going to use this year. I am getting so excited! I can't wait until the weekend of the 21st to put it all up. Below are a few pictures of the things we did during the weekend with Kelsey.

Making silly faces through the glass.
Boy, it sure is fun to squish my face on this glass!
He loved sliding even more than usual. I think he said more about 200 times!
Let's go!
Posing with Opa and Granny Gari
Feeding the ducks
Well, you asked me to bring you a ball! So I brought you all of them!
Sister!
Kels, you know you have three votes from the Lugar house to move a little closer!!
