My brain these days is so FULL! So to document everything that I am thinking I figured I would write it all down!
I will start with Griffin!
He is now totally on milk and off of formula completely. I expected a little protest to this but there was nothing! He seems to like his milk every bit as well if not more! He is down to just having a bottle in the morning and before bed. His lunch and dinner are from sippy cups. He eats a lot of "human" food as Jordan would call it. Grapes, apples, pears, cheese, all sorts of crackers, cut up chicken breast, waffles, toast, and yogurt pretzels. I still am feeding him jarred food here and there because he is totally rejecting the steamed veggies in "human" form. He starts to gag and then projectile vomits EVERYWHERE! So I am still trying but it hasn't been successful yet. He also drinks out of straws and regular cups as long as someone is helping. He is climbing all over everything! The coffee table, inside the fireplace, stacking toys and then trying to climb up them, etc. It is crazy! I can not take my eyes off of him for 2 seconds! When we go inside the bathroom to get ready he loves to shut the door. Then he bangs on the outside or sticks his fingers underneath until you open it again for him to start this process over! He laughs all the time! He still loves his books and brings them to me all the time to read. He can identify several different toys, like monkey, ball, book, rattle etc. We think he's pretty smart! :) His birthday party is on Saturday! I can't believe my baby is 1...And yesterday my weekly emails changed from "your BABY this week" to "your TODDLER this week." I almost cried!!! But since he has been walking for two months he is for sure a toddler. I can't wait to see his birthday cake. I ordered it from a famous bakery and I just can't wait to see if their cakes live up to the hype.
Ok now house...
We had our home inspection. Yesterday after we got the report I wanted to call my daddy and have him tell me what everything meant and how to fix everything. Of course this is not an option, I just haven't had a moment so far where I felt like I really really needed him...So that was a bit sad. But luckily my mom is pretty smart and being married to daddy for 34 years paid off and she helped decipher things. I also have a GREAT father in law that talked to us about some of the fixes and has already offered to help! I am so fortunate in that area! Everything looks great and just a few fixes need to be made like replacing some rotting wood in places and things like that. There was however a major concern with the pool that some things weren't plugged in and the grounding wires were loose. So alas, a "pool specialist" is being consulted and everything must be made to working order before May 8. At least this is all at the seller's expense and not ours!
I already have our money planned to buy the following right away: stainless fridge, sectional sofa, and new sink faucet and fireplace cover. The things I will wait a bit (but not too long!) are curtains, dishwasher (it's white and I want stainless), rug for the family room, and paint for a few rooms.
Did you know we will be "homeless" for a few weeks? We are moving out of our house now on April 11. Yea, like 2 1/2 weeks! Then we will be storing our things and moving in with my mama for 3 weeks until we close in May. I know this sounds crazy but it is saving us close to 3k even after paying to move "twice." So we think it's well worth it! So in my "spare time" (ha ha ha) I am packing away. Jordan's boss was so kind to give us all of his moving boxes from their recent move here. I am talking like 200 boxes! So we are very lucky to not have to spend any money on that!
So...Highlights of the upcoming week...My sweet sister in law is flying in Thursday (Gabe too!), the twins are spending the night with us Friday, all of our family and friends will be together for the lakeside picnic birthday party, and packing!! I will post pictures Saturday night of the big bash! Love!
