Fun Filled Weekend.

*All of these pictures were taken by the amazingly talented Dabney Fletcher.  We are sooo lucky to have such a talented photographer friend!*

No time to write the details...I will just post pictures for now!  Packing. Packing. Packing!
And in other news...Doesn't she look "glowing?"
Yay for Ginna and Erich!  Baby Schmidt is coming this
way at the end of November/beginning of December!

Ps.  I asked permission before sharing this and Ginna said of course!  So keep this sweet family in your prayers!

What's on my mind?

My brain these days is so FULL!  So to document everything that I am thinking I figured I would write it all down!

I will start with Griffin!

He is now totally on milk and off of formula completely.  I expected a little protest to this but there was nothing!  He seems to like his milk every bit as well if not more!  He is down to just having a bottle in the morning and before bed.  His lunch and dinner are from sippy cups.  He eats a lot of "human" food as Jordan would call it.  Grapes, apples, pears, cheese, all sorts of crackers, cut up chicken breast, waffles, toast, and yogurt pretzels.  I still am feeding him jarred food here and there because he is totally rejecting the steamed veggies in "human" form.  He starts to gag and then projectile vomits EVERYWHERE!  So I am still trying but it hasn't been successful yet.  He also drinks out of straws and regular cups as long as someone is helping.  He is climbing all over everything!  The coffee table, inside the fireplace, stacking toys and then trying to climb up them, etc.  It is crazy!  I can not take my eyes off of him for 2 seconds!  When we go inside the bathroom to get ready he loves to shut the door.  Then he bangs on the outside or sticks his fingers underneath until you open it again for him to start this process over!  He laughs all the time!  He still loves his books and brings them to me all the time to read.  He can identify several different toys, like monkey, ball, book, rattle etc.  We think he's pretty smart! :)  His birthday party is on Saturday!  I can't believe my baby is 1...And yesterday my weekly emails changed from "your BABY this week" to "your TODDLER this week."  I almost cried!!!  But since he has been walking for two months he is for sure a toddler.  I can't wait to see his birthday cake.  I ordered it from a famous bakery and I just can't wait to see if their cakes live up to the hype.

Ok now house...
We had our home inspection.  Yesterday after we got the report I wanted to call my daddy and have him tell me what everything meant and how to fix everything.  Of course this is not an option, I just haven't had a moment so far where I felt like I really really needed him...So that was a bit sad.  But luckily my mom is pretty smart and being married to daddy for 34 years paid off and she helped decipher things.  I also have a GREAT father in law that talked to us about some of the fixes and has already offered to help! I am so fortunate in that area!  Everything looks great and just a few fixes need to be made like replacing some rotting wood in places and things like that.  There was however a major concern with the pool that some things weren't plugged in and the grounding wires were loose.  So alas, a "pool specialist" is being consulted and everything must be made to working order before May 8.  At least this is all at the seller's expense and not ours!

I already have our money planned to buy the following right away:  stainless fridge, sectional sofa, and new sink faucet and fireplace cover.  The things I will wait a bit (but not too long!) are curtains, dishwasher (it's white and I want stainless), rug for the family room, and paint for a few rooms.

Did you know we will be "homeless" for a few weeks?  We are moving out of our house now on April 11.  Yea, like 2 1/2 weeks!  Then we will be storing our things and moving in with my mama for 3 weeks until we close in May.  I know this sounds crazy but it is saving us close to 3k even after paying to move "twice."  So we think it's well worth it!  So in my "spare time" (ha ha ha) I am packing away.  Jordan's boss was so kind to give us all of his moving boxes from their recent move here.   I am talking like 200 boxes!  So we are very lucky to not have to spend any money on that!

So...Highlights of the upcoming week...My sweet sister in law is flying in Thursday (Gabe too!), the twins are spending the night with us Friday, all of our family and friends will be together for the lakeside picnic birthday party, and packing!!  I will post pictures Saturday night of the big bash!  Love!

As of May 8 we will be the owners of a fantastically cute house in Flower Mound!!  We FINALLY heard back from the sellers and they accepted our offer with no changes!  So we are sooooo excited!!  Here are a few pictures!

Hodgepodge

This has been a crazy end of the week and weekend.  My grandmother passed away so we attended her funeral on Friday.  I view her passing as a blessing as she was in an extraordinary amount of pain and was more than ready to join her husband and my dad in heaven.

Then we looked and looked and looked at houses.  We finally found one that we will be making an offer on tomorrow.  So everyone keep your fingers crossed!!  I don't know how much of the back and forth I can take so hopefully they will accept our offer! It has a great pool so pool party at our house! :)
This is Griffin playing in my wallet....As my blog friend Ashley recently posted, babies LOVE purses.  He took everything out and crinkled each receipt!

Have you ever heard of a salt lamp?  I got this for my birthday from the Brooke family and we love it!  It makes an excellent nightlight downstairs and gives a really pretty glow.  You can go here to read about the health and wellness benefits of the salt lamp.

Totally Cute Thursday!

Such a sweet toothy grin!  We still only have 4 teeth although his gums are still swollen and red.  Isn't his hair getting so blond?
It's very hard to believe that his hair used to be THIS dark!

Fun Weekend!

For the first time in three weeks we were in town this weekend!! Yay!  We relaxed a little and I really enjoyed the extra time with Jordan.  With his new job he works a lot later and I don't get to see him as much!  Our realtor was out of town this weekend so we didn't house look at all but I am seeing 6 or 7 on Tuesday.  I will keep you all updated for sure!  On Saturday we went to lunch at a cute little pizza place in Allen and then to a silent auction at my mom's school.  We won a "date night" package that had great Rangers tickets for any game we want to go to, a gift card to TGI Fridays, and a gift card to Coldstone.  So needless to say we will look forward to using that this summer!  Then Saturday night we met up with JC and Dabney at their house in Ft. Worth.  She is not only a great photographer but she is an amazing decorator!  I was in awe of how cute and put together their place is!!  Then we sat on the patio at Joe T Garcia's and had yummy fajitas.  Then to finish off the night we went to the rooftop at Riata and enjoyed the awesome weather.  Jordan loved downtown Ft. Worth!!  I spent a lot of time there in high school and it's just totally different from Dallas.  Here are a couple of pictures from the night.

Griffin walks better and better every day!  He can now carry things, stand on his tippy toes, and stop and bend down and pick things up and then keep walking.  And......he runs!!!!!!!!  He loves to be chased and will run and laugh!  It's the cutest thing ever!  We feel like he is really communicating with us now.  He does the sign for eat, lays his head on our laps or shoulders when he is tired, and points and kinda grunts at things he wants.  It's almost like we carry on conversations without words!

Sad but Happy...

Sadly, we did not get the house in the earlier post.  Well, we could have had it if we wanted to over pay by about 15k...  We offered what we felt was fair but the people didn't budge much.  So we must assume it wasn't meant to be.  So, the weeks to come will be spend looking, and looking, and looking!!  But it is pretty fun to see people's houses so I will keep a positive outlook.  I loved that house though.  But there is no excuse to over pay in a buyers market like we are in now....

Ok...HAPPY because my good friend Dabney took the most amazing pictures of Griffin!!!  She thinks she is just practicing but she is FANTASTIC!!!!  Look for yourself!!  I am finalizing Griffin's invitations and should have them out and in your mailbox very soon!

We've Made an Offer

We have made an offer on this house.  We are not willing to move much off our first offer price so it might fall through.  But for now this is our could be future house!!  Please keep our family in your prayers during this season of our lives!

Birthday Parties - Lakehouse Style!

First let me start by sharing a few pictures from Abilene that sweet Ginna sent me.  I totally forgot we even took these!

We headed out VERY EARLY on Saturday morning and arrived at about 8 AM.  It was right around freezing and the boys got ready right away to hunt chucker.  It is some sort of bird that looks kinda like a duck and supposedly tastes just like chicken.  I just had to take everyone's word on that though as I am not really the "trying" type.  :)  Jordan said the hunt was so much fun and that he would have kept doing it for hours if he could have.

This first picture pretty much sums up the whole time there.  Christian and Griffin LOVE each other!  Christian is so kind and gentle with him and Griffin always has a smile for Christian.
These are all the "big kids" after the hunt.  You can see that D is holding the chucker.
Ha ha....This one makes me laugh and laugh!  It's like he is saying, "no more pictures please!"
The hunters!
Sweet Ginna and Griff.  Griffin LOVES Ginna!!!!  Almost as much as we do!
A family picture.
Jordan is always trying to get Griffin to touch things he kills!  First the deer and now this bird!!  Don't worry though - He didn't touch it!!  You can tell Gaylen is concerned in the background!
My favorites!!!!  I love this picture of us!  We make it a point to see the twins at least once a month and I don't know what I would do if that didn't happen.  I love them both and they are truly two of my best friends!
A birthday girl holding Griffin.  GG is always so sweet!
This is Griff making his Jordan face!  Lately he squints up his eyes when he smiles and looks just like his daddy.

The Birthday Girls!!
We had such a fun birthday party complete with Ginna's famous confetti cake.  I got the best gifts!  Some notecards for Griffin, some for me, a TEASER!!! (yes!!!), a salt lamp (which will be getting it's own post very soon), a makeup bag, necklace, purple clutch, and a SONIC GIFTCARD!!  Yea! Yea!

I have a busy busy week: looking at houses, doctor appointments, making invitations, Dabney, and hopefully cleaning the house!!  Have a great week!
