BUMBO

Oh my! Yesterday was so much fun! Griffin was a perfect baby! Going to two doctors, having great tummy time and sitting in his bumbo!! He is technically not old enough to be playing in this but he seemed to like it. And as you can see from the picture it made him a little taller than Izzie which he loved! He is making the cutest sounds all the time. I just love to listen and then try to make them back! My favorite is one that sounds just like he is laughing. And best of all yesterday evening he smiled at me! Now he has smiled in the past but this was in response to me smiling at him! He smiled so big for so long even Jordan was able to see it! I wish I could have captured it on camera! Maybe soon. We are off to another dr in Lewisville today and then to play in Lewisville this afternoon! Have a great day!

One Month Checkup

Griffin is doing great!

At one month he is:
- 9 lbs 6 oz
- 21 inches
He got his very first shot today and did great!! He only screamed once and stopped crying as soon as I picked him up! We are encouraged by how good he had been lately and hope that he keeps it up! Here is a picture from bathtime!

He's A Good Eater

This picture makes me laugh. Griffin just loves to eat! We have our one month checkup on Tuesday and we can't wait to see how much he has gained. Griffin is doing great, sleeping 4-5 hours a stretch at night and staying more and more awake during the day. That is unless someone comes to see him. Then without fail he is out like a light! We have a full weekend with Jordan going to a draft party and me going to a bridal shower! We are excited to have such nice weather and look forward to taking Griffin and Izzie to the nature preserve for a walk. I should have some pictures to post later this weekend. This last picture is the way I have to do housework now. Luckily Griffin loves his sling and is not at all afraid of the vacuum!

3 weeks old!

Yesterday Griffin was 3 weeks old! He is really starting to become a real baby now, not just a newborn! If that makes any sense at all. He likes routine (like his mother) and takes 2 naps like clockwork every day. One around 10am and one around 1pm. He is also sleeping much better the past few days waking at 1am to feed and again around 4:30. Jordan is able to feed him at the 4:30 feeding since this is just before the time he wakes up anyway and that is helping me get some much needed sleep! Here are some pictures from today's nap time. Daddy dressed him this morning and thought he should wear these socks because they matched his! Love it. On a side note I am officially free of my maternity clothes. Although I never wore them again after giving birth they are now out of my closet and packed waiting for whichever twin or sister gets pregnant first. Any predictions on who it will be? Just kidding. But I do wish they would have babies so we could all play! Have a great weekend.

First solo day!

Today is my first day to take care of Griffin alone! Monday I had Kels and yesterday my mom came over...Today it's just me!!! This is what I look like!

Now if you know me at all you know that I only wear my hair curly or wear glasses when I don't feel good or are so tired I think I might fall over. So for me to have both curly hair AND glasses...Well that should speak for itself. I don't think I have ever been so tired. Even back in my Nelson dorm days! But everyone is right...It's totally worth it. :)

Fun with Aunt Kelsey

We had soo much fun with Aunt Kelsey this weekend! We are beyond sad that she has to go home to Seattle! If I had my way I would keep her here forever! Griffin loves her and she is an amazing babysitter. I trusted her enough to leave my baby with her for 6 hours yesterday! Jordan and I took a nap and had some alone time. It was wonderful. Jordan started back to work today so it is just me at night. I wish Griffin would sleep the way he did when we first brought him home. Oh well, maybe soon right? Here are some pics from our playtime. Love you Kelsey!

First Trip to Church!

We took Griffin to Prestoncrest today! We were a little nervous because he has started crying a little more now but he did great! He wore one of the precious outfits that Granny Lou embroidered for him! Here is a pic!

Our baby boy just went for his two week checkup and everything looks great!!

- No more signs of jaundice!! yay!!
- Height 20 3/4 inches
- Weight 7 lbs 9 oz!! His birth weight was 7lbs 6oz so he is back exactly where he should be!!

We are so excited to have recieved such encouraging and positive remarks from our peditrician. Our next check up will be at the end of the month for his month old check. I think we will have his first (hep B) vaccine given at this time. :)

Amazing

We have amazing friends. Hands down the best there is. We are blessed to have had a lot of company since Griffin was born and it has been wonderful to be able to share our little guy with our friends and family. Thanks again to Clark and Lindsay and JC and Dabney for the MiCo and great conversations. Jordan and I can not wait until we get to come visit yall and meet your babies!!!

It will change your life...

Aunt Gaye brought me a present yesterday evening. In just a few short hours it has become one of my favorite things in the whole world. It's called an itzbeen. It is an electronic gaget that has buttons to record when the last time you did something for the baby. Such as diper change, feed, sleep, etc. Jordan and I had been having trouble keeping track of when Griffin had last ate when we got up in the middle of the night. We used the new itzbeen last night and we had no worries! Griffin ate every two hours like clockwork! It also helps you to figure out your baby's schedule so you can plan your life better! I love it!! Thanks again Gaye and Gary!

First Crib Nap!

Today Griffin slept for 2 hours in his big boy crib! It was nice having our hands free and not having to keep our eyes on him every single second. I think he looks happy don't you?

I put Jordan in charge of listening on the monitor.

News

We just got home from the doctor's office and here is the official report:
-He has gained weight back up to 7 pounds 3 ounces. This is one ounce of weight gain per day since his first visit on Monday.
-They are still concerned about his jaundice. We went to Plano Presbyterian hospital to have his heel pricked and to do bloodwork and his bilirubin level came back at 18.3. Anything under 20 is "okay" but since he is so close to 20 we have to go back to the hospital on Sunday and get him retested. They won't have to draw blood this time, only moiniter with some sort of light they attach to his head. So please be thinking about Griffin until then!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!!! At 4:30pm our baby will be a week old!

It's a learning hospital...

During my delivery I had many funny things happen to me...I can't wait to write all the stories down...But for now I will start with the beginning...When we got there at 7:30 they came in to start my I.V.'s. There was a young girl there and the nurse asked if she could try to start them because she was a nursing student... I said sure! This is what my arms look like...A WEEK LATER!

The J word!

Well Griffin went for his first doctor visit yesterday! He was given good marks except that it looks like he is developing a little bit of jaundice. We are trying to keep him in the sunlight and feeding him as much as I possibly can. We go back on Friday for a color and weight check so please keep us in your prayers. Here are a few CUTE pictures of Griffin basking in the sun with daddy - when I came downstairs they were both asleep!
