Room Makeover

Griffin has been asking for bunk beds ever since we visited the Lake House for Thanksgiving.  We weren't sure he was ready but after completing a series of tasks to "earn" the beds we thought that yesterday was the perfect day!  We were so blessed to be given these bunk beds to borrow from Griffin's big cousins and we already had a twin mattress from my college days so it was a win win situation.  Since we have only one mattress, and he was really only interested in sleeping on the top we decided to just do one bed and leave the underneath as a play area.  As you can see above he got new Spiderman sheets and a blue striped duvet cover.  I was looking for something that would go with the rug, curtains, lamp, and wall hangings we already had.  The underneath "art station" area has a reading chair from Granny, an ACU desk from PP, and a few assorted art supplies.  As soon as I am a little more confident I can trust him with markers etc he can have a few more.

And here is the big reveal!

 Little sister approves!

The first night of sleep went awesome!  He even slept 45 mins later than normal!  A big thanks to all the people that made this mini room makeover  possible - Jordan for building, moving, letting me buy things, etc. The Brookes - for letting us borrow this sweet bed! Granny for letting us borrow her truck. Momma for storing this twin mattress for the last 6 years.  And Griffin for giving us big hugs and thank yous that make it all worth while!
