Today Miss Gracie had her very first Dr's appointment with her new pediatrician. We absolutely loved her and I am so thankful for the recommendation! We got a great report overall and I will document it here so we can always remember.
Today she weighed 7lbs 8.5 oz. Although she is gaining weight it's not quite at the rate the Dr. would like so we are going to switch to feeding every 2 hours instead of ever 3. This will go on until our next weight check on Friday. We also went ahead and checked her bilirubin count because she is a little yellowish. We will get the results this afternoon so hopefully all is well. She was 19.5 inches long. So she somehow shrunk 1.5 inches since she was born. The Dr. said that most likely she is just a little more scrunched up here than she was inutero. That's normally the opposite but since she was footling breech she had plenty of room to stretch out inside! Her feet checked out great and we are being sent to a pediatric imaging place to check her hips. Why you ask? Apparently breech female babies are prone to congenital hip dysplasia. And when the Dr. was examining her she felt a few clicks in Gracie's right hip. So we are getting it checked out just in case. Hopefully everything is great but if not we will follow up with a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. At this point in the appointment Jordan and I asked each other why strange things always happen to our children! ha ha. But in the grand scheme of things we are very blessed and have two beautiful healthy children. And finally to top off the appointment I got a shot! How funny is that? I never in a million years imagined ME getting a shot at HER appointment but apparently to protect her from whooping cough both parents get the TDap shot. Jordan had his 2 years ago so that only left me. Too funny! Here are a few pictures from this morning.
This was our gear to go out. It takes more stuff to get two kids
up and out the door!
Don't you love my new diaper bag? Jordan's grandmother Joy bought it for
us. I LOVE IT!
