Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was fast and furious! We had lots of company over and had lots of fun.

I finally picked a color for Griffin's room. I will be painting it using this technique. It actually looks a little lighter on the wall than on the paint chip. I think it's going to turn out really neat. And if we hate it, we have tons and tons of the khaki paint left over from the old owners so I can just paint right over it! ha ha

I finished the upstairs guest bath with accessories and a great rug I found at BBB on clearance! It is perfect!
Jordan was busy building bookshelves and did a GREAT job. Griffin got a small bookcase that is perfect for him. He had a tall bookcase in the old house that I was paranoid about him climbing on. So this one is much safer and he loves going over and getting his things off the shelves.
These are the bookshelves in the back corner of our room. I love them! They do a great job of replacing the built-ins we had in our old house and give me some extra places to display things in the bedroom.
These are the flowers I found at Kroger for $2.75! I love these spider mums because they live for weeks and look so pretty. These are even better because they are purple! :)
The Brooke family came over for lunch on Saturday and were sooo sweet to bring us these GORGEOUS flowers. I had never seen them so brightly colored and they were the perfect centerpiece for everything this weekend.

Here we are in front of the buffet for Saturday lunch. We loved having the Brooke family and Jordan's parents over for lunch and swimming. And then as it turned out some impromptu tree trimming! We had 3 flavors of grilled chicken, fruit salad, Texas toast, a corn salsa type salad, brie croissant bread, and macaroni! YUM! Then for dessert we had Texas brownies and pink lemonade pie.Griffin got to sit at the main table with us and enjoyed fruit, turkey, and cheese!

After lunch we all went swimming. Griff swam awhile and then enjoyed relaxing with his Opa!

Then Saturday night we had a UFC party! It started after Griffin's 7:30pm bedtime so he didn't get to come. Maybe next year. Here are a few of our guests in the living room. We ended up with 10 total and feasted on my queso, chips and salsa, guacamole, and cookies.

Then in the perfect way to end the weekend my mom took us out to dinner to celebrate Jordan's birthday a little late. We ate then she came over and played with Griffin and wore him out for us!

WHEW! I will need the week to recover!
